That's where Take Steps comes in. Our program makes it easy to keep track of your physical activity and daily servings and offers tools and resources to make getting healthier easy.

![]() The first step is setting up your profile and goal. We'll ask you some personal, but completely confidential questions about your fitness level and where you want to be. Then we will provide a quick profile of your readiness to change and give you immediate access to the Take Steps tools and resources. It's important to fill out your profile completely and maintain it regularly to receive the full benefits of our program.

Track Your Steps and Servings |
![]() Keep track of your physical activity. We're not going to ask you to join a gym, or invest hundreds of dollars in fitness equipment. But we are going to ask you to keep track of how much you walk every day. Experts recommend that everyone take at least 10,000 steps each day. To make things easier on you we suggest using a pedometer to do the counting for you. Every morning, enter the number of steps you took the prior day on your Web page or Balance Book, and we'll show you how much closer you are to your goal. We also have some handy conversion charts to help you translate activities into steps.

It’s also a valuable resource to show you lots of easy ways to reach your fitness and nutrition goals - including healthy recipes and everyday activities that burn calories. You’ll also have access to our healthy encyclopedia and a number of online fitness and nutrition tools.
